Known for his structured thinking, clear documentation, and people‑centered leadership style, he is passionate about mentoring talent, continuous learning, and advancing the responsible adoption of AI across organizations in the region.

Winston Mariku brings an African and Global South lens to AI governance, digital policy, and responsible innovation, helping organizations, governments, and think tanks design strategies and frameworks that are practical, future-ready, and grounded in local realities. She works with executives, boards, AI teams, and public institutions to design frameworks, operational strategies, and oversight structures that make responsible AI actionable at scale. By connecting Africa to the global AI ecosystem, she provides insights that translate technology into policy and strategy into implementation. She works at the intersection of opportunity and risk, helping governments, think tanks, and organizations capitalize strategically while shaping responsible, high-impact AI and digital systems.

Sameer Soni is a technology operations leader with 15+ years of experience building and scaling technology organizations operating at the intersection of software platforms, infrastructure, and real-world operations. At KOKO Networks, he helped scale the company from an early-stage startup into a multi-country technology platform supporting millions of customers across Africa and Asia. Over this journey he built and led functions spanning Software Development, Site Reliability Engineering, Product Support, Cloud Infrastructure, Enterprise IT, Cybersecurity, and Technology Risk & Compliance – helping transition the organization from startup execution to structured, reliable, and audit-ready operations. His work focuses on building the operational foundations that allow technology to scale safely: reliability engineering practices, incident management maturity, governance models, compliance readiness, and cost-efficient infrastructure strategy.

She currently leads the Big Data, AI Systems, and Architecture function in Digital IT Technology at Safaricom, driving the development of scalable Solutions and data and AI platforms. She is committed to creating environments where technology teams can deliver solutions faster while maintaining strong governance, scalability, and long-term value for the business.

Chief Health Information Officer

An accomplished Health Information Management (HIM) professional with over 25 years of progressive leadership experience in health information governance, digital health transformation, health data standards implementation, and health systems strengthening in Africa. Mercy holds Master of Science in Health Systems Management ,Bachelor of Science in Health Records and Information Management, and currently pursuing a PhD in Health Information Management majoring in cancer data systems. ADC Ecosystem Lead

Irene Githinji is an accomplished ICT Integration in Education Advisor, specializing in partnering with Ministries of Education, academic institutions, and academia to drive digital transformation initiatives and skilling programs under Microsoft. Her current role is the Education Engagement lead at the Microsoft Africa Development center where she drives skilling partnerships with Univierties and academic institutions. With over 9 years of experience in both public and private sectors, Irene brings a wealth of expertise in management consultation, team building, professional development, strategic implementation, and company collaboration.

Notable among Irene’s achievements is her leadership in driving the strategic end-to-end implementation of ICT programs in K12 education across Rwanda and Kenya. Her efforts have played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the educational landscape, equipping students with essential digital skills for the future. Additionally, she has successfully spearheaded skilling programs across higher education institutions in Ivory Coast, empowering the next generation of professionals in the digital realm.

Dr Nishal Khusial is the AI Partner Africa for Regenesys Education, and a senior technology, data, cyber-risk and forensic-tech leader with over 20 years’ experience spanning digital transformation, AI enablement, machine learning implementation, and IT investment portfolio management. He holds a PhD in Digital Science & Data and is known for combining strong governance and risk expertise with practical, business-led innovation across sectors including education, fintech, manufacturing, professional services and property. Previously, he served as Chief of Strategy for the Cyber-Alliance EMEA at Forvis Mazars in South Africa and has held executive technology leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer in international energy and manufacturing environments, where he drove cloud-enabled platform growth and embedded AI/ML into operational ecosystems.
